This a modified version of KOTS for Quake2 that you can install in 3 easy step:

• Download the Win32 binaries (lastest build v5.3.forEver.0.24)
• Run it.
• Select Quake 2 folder, and quake 2 start menu folder.
• read 'ReadMe.txt' file
• have fun

This mod is fully compatible with kots players stats files and:

• every weapon has been balanced (machinegun is not the buzzsaw of the original version).
• every player can carry less ammo to fire.
• you can use your previous stats files (and admin utility).
• mod code has been optimized.

Dued to provider's policies I have to zip any executable file. So now you have to unzip the file before running setup.

After a period of reflection and evaluation, I have looked back and I have discovered how power point works.  I have slightly modified them to use them even without armors...

In this version:

• fixed flash granades
• restored power points/cells handling even without armor shards.
  A slow regen has been added, and a max has been setted up (2 * level).
  Now it is also possible to use them to get some special items.
• now when you take some damage, you will loose the hook.
• enhanced knockback and visual effects
• small fixes & adjustments

This new version has many fixes and improvments.

• New commands for the grappling hook to handle in a way similar to "Loki minions" one ("hook fire" and "hook drop").  This should fix the alias hanging problem.
• An anti-ratbot engine is added.  This works really fine.
• Some minor fixes & tunings.
